Robinsons family run butchers in
Wingate have been supplying locally produced beef, lamb
and pork from the fields of Durham for 5 generations - over
120 years. The butchers employs 18 people and is the main
employer in Wingate, County Durham.
Robinson's are renowned for providing
quality meats, delicious home-made pies and locally grown
produce. Robinsons Butchers are located in Wingate, County
Durham, 8 miles from Hartlepool and 8 Miles from Durham
City. Just 2 minutes from the A19 we serve customers from
Peterlee, Seaham, Durham, Hartlepool and right across County
Durham and the North East.

We recently moved into bigger premises
which means we can offer a wider range of meat and meat
products all under one roof. We also bake a range of pies
and pasties and freshly prepare ready meals such as steak
and ale hotpot and chicken in leek and stilton sauce.
The slaughter house remains in its
former position and this is where butcher Trevor Robinson
slaughters locally reared produce in a traditional manner.
This ensures customers are provided with the finest cuts
of meat.
People think butchers are an expensive
option but in fact our prices are very competitive compared
to supermarkets and we can guarantee where the meat has
come from. Our chickens are free to roam around a local
farm. With this in mind, it's no surprise that Robinsons
were awarded Rural Retailer of the Year 2006/2007.

In addition to the butchers shop,
Robinson has a cafe located next door which serves a range
of home-made dishes. The cafe is open every day for 'eat
in' or 'take out'. Sandwiches are made to order and we have
hot specials plus a wide variety of cakes and scones. We
are also opening our traditional carvery every Thursday
evening. Outside catering is also a service provided by
Robinsons for those special occasions,
be it a party buffet, hog roast or BBQ. As well as providing
the food, we offer a service where we come out and cook
for our customers too. Every weekend we provide catering
for clients in County Durham, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough,
Durham and across the North East.
Former Tyne Tees weatherman Bob Johnson
is a fan of the butchers he calls in every so often for
a pie, to eat on thecountry walks that he enjoys so much
in his retirement.
